    Havis’s Battery, founded in 1862, was part of the 14th Battalion Georgia Artillery. After training in Griffin, Georgia, the battalion moved to Kentucky to join Palmer’s Battalion, Army of Tennessee. Havis’s saw action in most of the battles fought between Kentucky and Macon. They supported General Longstreet at Chickamauga, performed at Missionary Ridge, Pine Mountain and Kennesaw, and fired on Union troops in the Battle of Atlanta.
